We aim to produce client appreciated buildings that embrace environmental issues, innovative yet proven construction design. The design will ensure constructability, compliance with client brief and a buildings that integrates into the site environment.

TRUNDLEY is underpinned by family values which provide an hard working ethos for our business whilst providing continuity. These include: a obsession for design detail; belief that the architectural best-placed to provide a lead the project to completion, and fully integration of all parties required to provide a successful project.

We aim to provide constructable innovative developments within the project budget to which both our clients and ourselves can be proud of the result.

TRUNDLEY is strongly conscious of the role that the construction industry needs to play in mitigating future environmental degradation.

We seek to promote responsible stewardship of the environment at all times – in terms both of the way we operate and of the designs we produce.

This statement is therefore intended as encouragement for our staff, clients, colleagues and suppliers to share our commitment to the minimisation of environmental impact.

As a company, we regard compliance with current environmental legislation as only a minimum level of performance and, wherever it is reasonably viable to do so in our office environment, we:

Minimise waste (including internal recycling of material before disposing of it).
Utilise energy-efficient equipment and components.
Recycle waste products and materials.
Utilise environmentally friendly products.
Encourage staff to use energy-efficient and less polluting forms of transport.
Avoid the use of non-sustainable resources.

Throughout the development of each project, the environmental aspects of its design are systematically evaluated in formal design review meetings.

We review and continue our professional development and have recently obtained Authorised Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) Energy Rating Assessor status, allowing the practise to provide SAP Energy Ratings and comply with the requirements of European Directive for Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD), with an aim to enhance our design abilities to provide energy efficient design solutions.

In recognition of our commitment to, and ability to demonstrate, continuous improvement in terms of environmental impact, we are a registered ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) company, having incorporated a number of environmental performance indicators into our Practice Management system which we review annually.

In the ever increasing concerns all parties must take ownership of their responsibilities and look to provide, where possible, a building that can reduce the carbon footprint of the development with the use of energy efficient construction techniques,  renewable heating/ hot water systems, bio-diversification and reclamation of waste heat/ energy.

Trundley as a practice have been involved with numerous projects within the residential and commercial sectors which require the new buildings to be compliant with the relevant energy rating. We can advise on the possible Client undertakings in respect the provision of  a ‘Greener ’ finished project, which can provide substantial reduction in future running costs.

Within the commercial sector by adopting an energy project brief there is also the opportunity to claim back capital costs against the equipment installed by ensuring that the equipment has a Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme ‘ECA’ registration.

The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme is a key part of the Government’s programme to manage climate change, and is designed to encourage businesses to invest in energy-saving equipment.

Full details of this scheme can be accessed via www.eca.gov.uk
